AUTHORISED HY HOARD

Applications totalling. 2y9 Were .considered. and loans amounting to £‘221.120 were authorised, at a recent meeting of the State Advances Hoard, according to a statement made hy the Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. bn- Joseph Ward) to-day.
The numbers of applicants and the total amount of the loans authorised under the respective headings, the Prime Minister explained, wore as follows:
Rural advances 2s, amount £09,015. Advances to settlers, 85, 'amouit £75.880.
Advances to workers 146,; amount £105,445. • “The advances .where valuations have been received have all been dealt with,” the Prime Minister added. “ The latest figures show a larger number of workers’ advances than settlers’ advances, the difference being £29,715. The position, as a whole, I consider to he verv satisfactory.”
