'The land party which left Wave Hill on April 23rd arrived at tho Kookaburra yesterday. As the Air Force planes guiding the. party had to return to tho base no report was obtained. Flying Officer Ryan will Jlv out again to-day to get news. A shTulnge of water and tho difficult nature of the country were the reasons for the delay in the expedition’s progress. All the party, however, are in good health.

MURDEROUS ATTACK

ON A TIMBER WORKER

SYDNEY, April. 30. ; Punched and kicked into insensibility and left for dead in the street, was the fate of Morris Reid, aged.2B, a timber worker, who was assaulted at Glebe. Reed’s skull was fractured and lie may not recover.

This latest attack brings the- toll of victims to twenty. Some are still in hospital in a serious condition.

According to the latest oversea trade bulletin, during the last financial year there was a serious decline in Australia’s oversea trade amounting to £18,698,921 sterling compared with the preceding twelve months. The value of trade during the financial year was £291,158,040 sterling.
