In the Ryder Golf Cup contest, between Britain and ITS. A. teams, Duncan beat Hagen by 10 and 8; Boomer beat Turessa 4 anil 3; Horton-Sniith beat Robson 4 and 2; C. Whitcombe beat Farell 8 and G; Biegel beat MitclieU O and 8: Compston bent Sarazen 6 and 5 ; E. Whitcombe and Espinosa, all square; Cotton • beat AY at ro us 4 and 3. Britain won by 7 to 5.

In tiie foursomes Golden and Hagen beat E. Whitcombe and Cotton, two up; Compston and C. Whitcombe halved with Farrell and Turessa. Mitchell and Robson boat Dubley and Sarazen 2 and 1. Diegel and Espinosa beat Duncan and Boomer 7 and 5. The Britishers were just as good as the Americans, but the formers' putting was a sorry tale.

Twelve thousand witnessed thrilling contests for the Ryder Cup. The biggest crowd attached itself to Captain Duncan, who rose to great heights and never looked like losing the game, beating Hagen ten to eight.
