The non-stop aeroplane landed a< Karachi after being alnit 'for 301 s minutes, ft covered 4130 miles which is 336 short of the Italian record.
REMARKABLE -MACHINE

The specially designed Royal Air Force monoplane, which left Crnn.wel! Aerodrome on a long distance non-stor flight, lias many remarkable features, embodied in its design. It was made by the Fairev Aviation Company of Hayes -Middlesex. Three tons of petrol are varied in its wing which has a span of TJ feet. This wing is tmek and broad and all in one piece being probably the largest cantilever monoplane wing oyer made. 'I he on gine is a Napier Lion and is in effect a service edition cl the racing Napier engine used to win the Schneider Trophy for England. One ingenious arrangement with which the machine is equipped is a horn worked off .the aneroid in such a manner that if during night living the machine comes below a certain altitude and is thus in danger of hitting a mountain the horn sounds a warning in the pilots ear. ’With its 100 gallons of petrol the machine weighed GA tons and a special two-mlie run had been prepared at ('ranwell to facilitate the take-off. It was, however, well in the air alter a run of only GOO yards, and soon after turned on its southward course.
