SUSPICIOUS FIRE.

MELBOURNE, April 27
According to a statement made to the police by the night watchman, incendiarism is t suspected as the cause of a fire which did about £30,000 damage at the timber mills of the Millers Timber and Trading Coy., South Melbourne, early tTiis morning. A drenching rain aided the firemen. Police motor cycle patrols just prior to the fire made a tour of inspection of the yards.
MOTOR tragedy. SYDNEY, April 29,
A motor car overturned for an unexplained reason at Bankstown and caught fire. The occupants, two men and two women were all grievously injured, one, Lily Anderson, aged 22, dying soon after she had been admitted to the hospital.
A TRAGEDY. BRISBANE, April 29,
A dreadful tragedy is reported from Surat. Human remains believed to be those of Jack Green, aged sixty, who has been blissing for some weeks, were discovered by the police in the debris of a fire.
Two young men who were seen driving Green’s turnout, have been detained. There were signs that the lire was a very fierce one.
A SUICIDE.
SYDNEY, April 29
Despondent owing to unemployment and fancied mistake in love, Marjorie Talk, aged 30, single, used her last twopence to operate a gas meter in a Darlinghurst Flat on Friday morning and asphyxiated herself. She was discovered yesterday. According to statements made before her. death, her parents are living in New Zealand. COAL KROM N.Z. MELBOURNE, April 29.
As a result of the coal stoppage in New South Wales and Victoria, consumers are 'ordering supplies from New Zealand and England. The second shipment from New Zealand arrived by the Kaitoke yesterday.
