Donald, P. stmastor-Gen-erai, has a leiegram from the Prime Minister, recalling an earlier intimation that a Government subsidy of £25.000 is available under certain conditions (at £ for £ up to a maximum of £25,000, if found by the city) for the Auckland unemployed. Sir Joseph Ward stated: There has been no application made l>v the Auckland Municipality for any subsidy from the Government. 1 made a statement in Cabinet. and also in the press, that it would lie treated the same as Wellington.
