MAGISTRATE’S COURT
GKBYMOUTH, April 23 SLY GROG AT KOTUKU.
Donald Spencer, charged with exposing liquor for sale, and selling liquor without a license, entered a plea of guilty to the second charge, the police agreeing to withdraw the first information.
The S.M. said that it was a serious offence to sell liquor without first having a license* but in this case it appeared that defendant was not making a profit. Tie would he convicted and fined £l, with Court costs EL 7s, and witnesses’ expenses £1 19s 4d.
FARMERS’ FIGHT,
William Robert Coburn pleaded guilty to fighting; and Frederick Tibbies pleaded guilty to fighting, hut denied a charge of assault, as a result of a difference between two farmer neigh hours. His Worship hound each over to keep the peace 'for 12 months. On the charge of fighting they were each convicted and fined 10s with £1 2s Del each costs. The assault charge was dismissed. R AC ECO URSE TRESPASSER,
Zaberi Beri, previously convicted at Christchurch in a gaming house raid, was fined £1 and costs for being found on Greymouth Trotting Club ground during the progress of a meeting.
