Erau Cusiina Wagner, the second wife of Wagner, the composer, lias lost tin* sight of both of her eyes. She is aged 94 years.

Smallpox measures were enforced at French ports lor the first time. The Folkcstone-Boulogne boat which ordinarily carries 250 passengers to-day had only 93. and of them 24 produced British medical certificates that they were vaccinated recently. The others were herded into the sanitary office and given sanitary passports, whereby they remain under supervision in whatever districts they are visiting, and must inform the authorities if they show symptoms of illness.
