Bell, the Deputy Minister of Health, who went there from Toronto in response to urgings by the local Health Officers, to determine wlmt caused Strachan’s sudden death, which was cabled on April 19th. ft was due to the streptococcus germ, a form of blood poisoning.

'The officials in charge of the group of young Australians said that all of them were in good health save John "West, who has been sent to hospital with throat trouble. The group planned to continue their tour to-morrow.
