Bell, the Deputy Minister of Health, who went there from Toronto in response to urgings by the local Health Officers, to determine wlmt caused Strachan’s sudden death, which was cabled on April 19th. ft was due to the streptococcus germ, a form of blood poisoning.

Strachan’s death compared somewhat with the deaths of five persons who were recently stricken at Elirid, a township near London, Ontario. It is believed that the latter were victims to the same rare germ. William Kremmer, Strachan’s companion, has been placed in quarantine.

'The officials in charge of the group of young Australians said that all of them were in good health save John "West, who has been sent to hospital with throat trouble. The group planned to continue their tour to-morrow.
