There was cold, bracing weather for the second day of the Hawke’s Rav meeting. The course was in tip top order, and the attendance was verygood. The tote for the day took £19,294, against £19,339 on the second day last year. For the meeting the tote took £32,899, as compared with £32,449 last year.

Karamu Hurdles.—(3) Ataroria 1, ((!) Mandarine 2. (1) Bracman 3. Won by three lengths; three lengths. Time 3.13 3-3.

Pakipaki Handicap.—(s) Joy Germ 1; (1) Elving Binge 2, (3) Inflame 3. Won by one and a-half lengths; one length. Time 1.2. Juvenile Handicap.—(l) Hunting Boy 1, (3) Valpre 2, (4) Ben Hur 3. Won by a head; five lengths. Time 1.8 2-5!
