SMALL POX SCARE. FRENCH ORDER LIEiED. RISK VERY SLIGHT. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, April IS. Mr Lockcr-Lampson stated in the House of Commons to-day that official confirmation had hcen received of the suspension by the French Government >f the order requiring visitors from England to have been vaccinated within the preceding two months. Referring to tin l cause of the order, namely Die outbreak of smallpox aboard the Tuscania, which arrived from Glasgowon April Ist, Mr Neville Chamberlain (Minister for Health) said that the number of cases among the 1598 passengers and crew was 45. There had been seven deaths. AH the patients bad been isolated in hospital, and all eon tacts were kept under supervision. The rigorous action taken in France to prevent the spread of smalloox ifrom the Tuscania appeared to have' proved effective, as the ship arrived 17 days ago. Any serious risk of a wide-spread outbreak of the disease was at an end, though it was possible some secondary cases might arise. CAPTAIN DEWAR. GIVEN ANOTHER SHIP. RUGBY, April 18. A .• ( .port by Commander Daniels addressed to Captain Dewar was held to be subversive to discipline and contrary to the King’s regulations, as it contained criticisms of his superior.
