FATAL ACCIDENTS
(Jty Telegraph—l’er Press Association.) PAIjMKILSTOX X., April 20. A level crossing; fatality occurred at Vance Street, Shannon. this morning. A motor lorry, convoying J. Letter, married, and H. 'l'remewan. "as struck by the Auekland-Wellington express. Letter was killed instantly. Tremewna was seriously injured, The lorry ws completely wrecked. Tremewan was conveyed on the train to Levin for treatment. Letter was in business at Shannon as a carrier, but his home is at Foxton. lie was aged 40. Tremewan is a young man, residing at Shannon, with his parents. The scene of the accident was not far from his parents’ home. PALM ALSTON N.. April 21. Advice has been received that Tremewan, the second victim of the Shannon accident, died of his injuries.’
