All of the candidates at the general election will he asked to support n petition in favour of legislation for the abolishing of stag bunting as n cruel sport. There are already lilteen thousand signatures to the petition, including those of Messrs Bernard Shaw. Arnold Bennett, John Galsworthy, Allred Noyes; also Kditii Stilwell. Rebecca AYest, Aland Rov(len. the Bishops of Birmingham and Ripon, the Salvation Army General Higgins, and the Chief Rabbi.
'Pile Labour and Liberal parties are practically unanimously supporting the petition. Meanwhile the members of the Roval Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals nave voted by :312b co 1142 in favour of a campaign against stag bunting, it is expected this decision will lead to resignations from the Society, which lias many stag hunters among its members. i
