CRICKET

M.C.C. TEAM

COMMENTS ON TOUR

(United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright).

NAPLES, April 18

The M.C.C. Cricket team arrived here- in splendid health. Tate apparently is still suffering mentally from the limitless tests. He said they seemed to last ten or twelve days, remarking: “After I had been on the field for a day. T used to wonder why they didn’t have matches last a- year long. It is hard to imagine what it is like fielding in a blazing sun. watching the batsmen make 160 runs, and then, go home to find an epidemic of mosquitoes.” Tate was of the opinion that the Australian youngsters have yet to prove their worth in England, whole it will be a different story.

Mr Toone, the Manager of the team, described the barracking as having been essentially Australian. It was usually good natured. He thinks that the climate is responsible. They must do something to keep up their spirits. On the whole it was most amusing. He added that Hendren, Hobbs and Tate know how to handle them.
