A MAN OF SERVICE

Mr Rushwflrth M.P. for Bay of Islands held the rank of captain in the great war. He was wounded while attached to the . Second Worcester Regiment, hut subsequently joined the Air Force. While over the German lines he was again wounded. He was discovered by German soldiers as his machine was shot down and he was liiaclt prisoner. When peace was declared he rejoined the stafF of the London County Council, but be resigned in 1923 and came to New Zealand. He took up a farm at Opua and became associated with the Country party, and he was chosen as its candidate at the general election.
