MARTON’S JUBILEE

IMPROVEMENTS FOR PARK

MASTON, April 16

At a meeting in Marton of representatives of all the sports bodies held to discuss the question of erecting a dressing-shed and showers in the Alarton Park, the Mayor offered the suggestion that the scheme might well be delayed to ascertain from the Borough Council whether it would fall in with a proposal to erect a commodious grandstand on the park, embracing all the facilities required, to celebrate .Marlon’s jubilee in September next. The meeting endorsed the suggestion, and appointed a committee, consisting of .Messrs W. E. Gibbons, A. Smart, S. R. Abel, J. C. Thomas, H. Batcimlor, and Rev. F. J. Handy, to wait on the council ami generally further the object. It is considered that the scheme will be endorsed, and it will be a. fitting manner in which to ’celebrate tlie jubilee.

It is also intended to fit out and officially open a children’s playground in connection with the jubilee.
