The Betting Control Board has accepted tenders for the l present lightning automatic lota lisa tor of the British Automatic Totalisator, Graham Ampliou and fourthly Bell Punch and Printing Company. They will be installed at twelve leading racecourses, including Newmarket. Probably the first will lie ready for Hurst Park in \ugii.st. Grahin Amplion Coy. state their tender amounted to one hundred thousand sterling for a machine worked , entirely hv electricity. The Board’s decision indicates it considers the totalisators named superior for English purposes to the type used on Australian racecourses, which were also submitted for consideration. Jt is stated orders for large sums were placed with all the firms mentioned, though the figures were not announced.
