WELLINGTON, April 11

The following transfers and promot ions in the Police Force were announced by the Commisionor : -- Sub-Inspector S. Fitzpatrick (Christchurch) promoted to Inspector, takes charge at Greymouth. Sciiior-Scrgt. P. J. O’Hara (Christchurch) promoted to Sub-Inspector and remains at Christchurch.

Senior-Sorgt. T. Shanahan (Oainaru) replaces O’Hara as Senior. Sergt. (). Scott (Wellington) goes to Oamaru.

Si'iiior-Defective R. Ward (Wellington) transfers to the uniform branch. Wellington. Senior-Sorgt-. Charles W. LopdcH (Wanganui) is transferred from the uniform branch to Chief Detective tit Wellington.

Senior-Sergt. I). A. McLean (Gisoonto) is transferred to Wanganui. Sergt. H. C. I). Wade (Wairoa) is appointed Senior-Sergt. at Gisborne. Sergt. E. Equaile (Napier) tallies •barge at Wairoa.

Sergt. j. R. Hodgson (Wellington) transfers to Napiey, Detective I). 'Fitzgibhon (Napier) is oromoted to Detectivo-Sorgt. and remains at Napier.

Constable J. Cajrmody (Thorndon Station, Wellington) is promoted to Sorgt. and remains at Wellington. Constable D. Crowe (Picton) is transferred to 'I liorndon.

Constable T. X. Condon (Brooklyn) takes charge at Picton. Constable K. W. Strafan (Upper Hutt) takes charge of Brooklyn. Detoetive-Sergt. J. Thompson (Wellington) transferred to Hamilton. Detective F. Sinclair (Auckland) is transferred to Nelson. Constable T.‘ Y. Hall (Nelson) goes to the detective office (Wellington) as acting-detective at Waterson. Constable Fell (Auckland) is detailed for duty with the Samoan Police Force.
