Two remarkable cases of tracheotomy are reported almost simultaneously from the Continent.
TTaiisen. an artisan of Copenhagen, who' was choking with a piece of crust in his throat, had the presence of mind to make a pocket-knife incision in his throat, which enabled him to breathe until a surgeon removed the obstacle.
The other ease came from Budapest, Professors Balint and Pollaeliek, the latter a noted throat specialist, were conversing when Raliut took a tit, under which lie was suffocating. Pollacliek made an incision in his throat with a pen-knife and saved bis life.
