Bruce, at a conference of representatives or coal owners and Miners’ Federation appealed to both sides to re-open the mines and settle their differences after, wards. A full investigation would be made by a Royal Commission. Ah' Bruce, announced with a view to encouraging peace, that the prosecution of John Brown (cabled on 22nd Alarcb) would not be proceeded with.
