WELLINGTON, April 7

There was ideal weather on Saturday for the Kilbirnie Stadium speedway sports, and 10,000 people present. During one of the races, Dave Managh, of Haleome, side-slipped and fell. Max Graham, of- Australia, who was following close behind, ran over .Managh, breaking Managli’s left thigh. Graham turned a complete somersault on his machine, and fell heavily, iv.it lie escaped with slight, injuries to his mouth. Graham’s machine was wrecked.

Managh was taken to the hospital in a slightly dazed condition. A new mile record was established by Jack Arnott of Palmerston North, from a flying start. His time was lmin. msec. ' TVs is 1 2-5 seconds faster than Gus Clifton’s of Australia. Results ;

The Speedway Farewell Handicap, (prizes £2O, £TO, and .Co' was won by (’. B. McKenzie. J. Arnott was second, and V. Spencer third. The Grand invitation Mat race £10) was also won by C. R. McKenzie, Tui Morgan being second, lvilnn: si or fell in this event. A special match, one mile (£2O) was won bv J. Arnott. Unfortunately, his opponent, C. It. -McKenzie, developed engine trouble. Percy Coleman, of Wanganui, the N.Z. champion grass track rider, made his first appearance on a dirt tracK. He had only a trial spin in the afternoon, hut was ill at ease on the dirt track. He finished second in his heat of the Farewell Handicap, but was only third in the semi-final. , In the second heat of the Grand Invitation one mile, lie fell heavily.
