LONDON, March 27

For the first time since his illness the King received a member of flic Government and participated in the affairs of the nation. This morning the Archbishops of Canterbury and York paid homage to the King, who was dressed in a frock coat and walked to the lounge in Craig well House, cordially greeted Mr Baldwin, who formally introduced the Archbishops.

The Queen lunched with Mr Bald win. whom the King subsequently received in his bedroom. He is understood to have discussed the' general election anil other State business.
