MISSIONS TROUBLE. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). • UABAUL, March 11. As the result of friction between Missions on Bougainville Island over the erection of a church, the Commissioner, Judge Phillips, leaves with native police to investigate the Missions activities. The Missions involved are Roman Catholic Marist Society, Methodist -Missionary Society of New Zealand, and Seventh Day Adventists. In one case, a Protestant native Mission teacher was iorcibly ejected fiom a village at the instigation ol priests. AN AIR CRASH. LONDON, March 10. A New Zealander, H. F. Mase, was badly injured when a machine was wrecked in a crash near Bury, St. Edmonds. Live rescuers were needed to extricate him from the wreckage. The tank hurst, but the machine did not ignite. Mase is a membci ol a private flying club, and learned living in Australia. The crash was due to engine trouble. GENERAL ELECTION. LONDON, -March 11. The Daily Telegraph, referring to the General Election, says: It is likely that the elections will be held in May, the earliest date being May 29th. ARCHBISHOP’S WARNING. SYDNEY, March 11. Archbishop Kelly, speaking at Banikham Hall, emphasised the necessity ifor a proper understanding between employer and employee. Strile for more and more wages without employers making efforts at extra production, must spell the ruination of the country. He added tnat there were a lot of impostors creating a disturbing effect on the community by creating a breach between employer and employee.
