From recent utterances of the Prime Minister there has l>een given an impression that he intends to go on the local market for £2,000,000. In reply to a question to-day, Sir Joseph Ward said that he had received an offer of £2,000,000, not from any source in New Zealand, but from abroad, and he had declined it. The Government, at the present time, was not on the money market, and the amount of £2,000,000 that he had referred to previously had not been rais. cd.
