A claim for £3ll for compound fracture of the ring finger of the right Hand was brought by Leslie AJastyn Fowler a butter-maker, against Henry Angus Munro, a. farmer. The injury was sustained in a collision. Plaintiff was on a motor-cycle and collided with a motor-lorry driven by an employee of tho defendant. The facts were admitted. The jury awarded £l9B and costs.
NOT LEPROSY.
NAPIER, 'March 6. A case of suspected leprosy which some weeks ago lias engaged the attention of the medical authorities at Napier Hospital has now been definitely established as not being that. disease. The young Samoan concerned nas been discharged from the institution, his complaint not being infectious.

WELLINGTON, March 8
The proprietors of the “Evening Post” have offered to present to the Wellington Aero Club the cost of an aeroplane, approximately £B3O. Thanking the donors, the chairman stated: “Our object is to obtain a sum of £4OOO, which will cover all capital expenditure, including two ’planes and the hangar, with provision for necessary working expenses for the first year. Our membership' is increasing and we are confident that our annual income from subscriptions and fees will cover all future working expenses once the original £4OOO is obtained. Your generous action has gone far towards the raising of the £4OOO, and your example will lead to assistance from public spirited citizens which will enable us to attain our object.”
DROWNED in WAITAKI RIVER
OAMARU, March 8. At 4.45 p.m. this afternoon, while working 011 the Public Works pontoon in tlie Waitaki river at the Waitaki hydro-electric dam site, George Hoffman, a middle-aged widower, fell over tlie side of the pontoon and was drowned. Tlie Public Works staff searched the river, hut up to seven o’clock the body had not been recovered.
ATTEMPTED RAPE CHARGE.
PAHIATUA, March 10,
A native Raha Nopern, aged 34, was arrested yesterday and was charged with attempted rape on a married woman, the wife of a farm labourer at
Konini. A charge of indecent assault was also preferred. Accused was remanded till the 21st, hail being allowed in £IOO and a surety of £2OO.
