THE RELIEF WORKS.

WELLINGTON, March 10. Hon Air Ransom stated to-day that the latest report he had received showed that 2,999" previously unemployed workers were now engaged on special relief works organised bv the Government A lost road construction and repairing, some were on railway improvements and extensions. Including the unemployment relief, 14,000 men were engaged on public works contracts throughout the Dominion.
