“THE CIRCUS OF LIFE”

One of the most striking of human documents the screen has yet given us, will he seen when the managements presents, ”Tlie Circus of Life,” at the Princess Theatre to-night. Dealing with life in Russia under the C'.carfist Regime, the story tells of a secret marriage between Lieutenant Vladimir of a Cossack Regiment and Vera, a beautiful girl of the people. The parents of the hoy refused to recognise such a misalliance. An old admirer of the girl—Boris Daniloff Communist, escapes from prison ami seeks refuge with her. He is refused. Vera escapes and takes refuge in a restaurant which is raided by the police. she is accused as a suspected Communist and finds that her young husband is one of the officers of the Court. Rather than place her husband in a difficult position by telling the court who she is, who is the father of her child, she declares Boris to be her lover. She is sent to Siberia, whilst her child is cared for by a friendly Cossack. After terrible hardships she escapes and gets employment in a circus. • Incurring the enmity of the owner she is betrayed and once again arrested, this time being sentenced to be shot. Meanwhile the young husband his discovered the truth and at the eleventh hour saves her.

There will be appealing on the .stage in eonjuetion with a first-class picture programme on Wednesday next at tlie Princess Theatre. Omdah, the Sheik with 1,000 eves. He is claimed by tlie press to begin where usually clairvoyants finish. The public are invited to bring their written queries with them and Omdah will answer them free. His amazing expositions of mind reading and mental telepathy make him appear possessed of almost supernatural power, and with most nonchalent ease he unfolds the past into the future, and in a cheery vein reaches the innermost thoughts of any member of the audience. Omdah has performed in many strange lands and has appeared before many strange faces. He has probably created a greater sensation and puzzled scientists more than any othe rpertformer. Questions pertaining to all matters will be answered from the stage free.
