A DUNEDIN PROPOSAL. (By Telegraph—Press Association). DUNEDIN, March 6. That‘a City-Council should-take immediate steps to. raise -a loan of £20,~ 000 to he subsidised by the Government for the relief of : unemploymentU was urged by a- deputation from the Otago Labour Council at the City Coiipcil meeting to-night. It was stated that there were 400 men out of work here, and their dependents numbered about 600. - ■ ' • • • The speakers also asked that standard rates he paid on any relief works started. The deputation was listened to sympathetically, and the matter was referred to the Finance Committee for a report. v
