HOAD AND BRIDGE DAMAGE (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) WESTPORT, March 6. Washaways and slips have occurred in various parts of the Buller District as the result of heavy rain yesterday and to-day. ... bridge at Island Creek, Loop Line, is in danger of being carried away. Blasting operations are l>eing resorted to to remove the logs which are threatening the bridge. A big washout occurred on the railway line near Birchfield, compelling a temporary .suspension of the railway services.
