Hostilities are re-threatened in this part of China, culminating for almost a year of disagreement of HankowNanking factions. Nanking faction, representing the recognised .Nationalist Government is mobilizing large forces in anticipation of attacks from Danko. Dozens of Chinese merchantmen at Shanghai and vicinity wore forcibly commandeered inflicting enormous losses on companies. Several Nanking controlled gunboats have left Shanghai, en route for Lower Yangtze'. The* refusal of local money changers to accept notes of the Central Bank of China to-day is regarded as significant of impending trouble. Tile downfall of the Government, which has unceasingly hied the populace and imposed the mail list regime, is not unwelcome in many quarters.
