LATE LOCALS.
The majority of drapers have decided to remain open to-morrow, our premises will be open all day; business as usual. AY. McKay and Sons. —Advt. Ratepayers are notified that 10 per cent, will be added to all rates struck and levied for the year ending March 31st. 1929 which are unpaid at 4 p.m. on Tuesday 26th j inst. Legal proceedings will be taken to recover all overdue rates, rents, and dog registration) fees, which are not paid on the 31st. inst. The Kanieri Electric Light Coy. has kindly installed the electric light on the pavilion at Cass Square for the community singing to-night. Music will be provided by the Black Hand orchestra under Mr A. Lawn’s leadership. The management will be glad of the assistance of members of local choirs and choral parties to assist with the singing. The open-air concert will begin at 8.15 o’clock. There will be several side shows operating on Cass Square and in addition soft drinks and light refreshments will' be procurable on the grounds. An assembly bent on an evening’s enjoyment will have the opportunity of securing a very pleasant time. The gathering is off an unique order, but will be none the less enjoyable, and with a full orchestra the time should, pass very pleasantly. Admission to Cass Square will be free. Halliday; fruit cake, 51, Mrs Rouse, 17, Mrs Ave Dowell.—Advt. A large and enthusiastic meeting was held at Koiterangi last evening in connection with the Red Cross Peace time work. Sister Christian addressed the meeting and explained the course of instruction to be given. A sub-com-mittee was formed, consisting of: President, Airs Morel and Secretary Miss Cropper; Committee, Airs Crbpper, Airs Bonnington, Mrs Jones, Airs Dimmick and 24 students were enrolled. Classes will commence on AA’ednesday, Alarch 13th. Aleetings will bo held at Rimu, Woodstock and Ruatapu as soon as can be arranged.
