ADDINCTON STOCK SALE. LAMB AND PIG PRICES GOOD. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 27. The West Coast was represented today at Addington stock sale by a large entry of lambs and 100 pigs. Both lines sold very well. Messrs H. Matson and Coy review the sale .as follows: Of store sheep and lambs there was a large entry, mostly of second rate quality. Prices were on a. par With those of last week. The best fetched 21s to 21s, seconds 18s to 20s, thirds 15s and 17s, bulls 11s to 14s 6d. In adult sheep there was a large yarding. Prices were firm, and best two-tooth ewes sold at 32s and 40s, others 26s and 27s 6d. Sound mouth best sorts sold at 27s to 31s, others 24s and 26s 6d. Full and failing sorts sold at 18s and 225, wethers 23s and 275. Fat lambs—There was a fair entry including large consignments from the West Coast. Prices were well up to the schedule The best sold io 355, prime 29s to 325, mediui. 26s Oil and 28s 6d, light 24s to 265. Pigs—There was a. large y. "ding, including over 100 from the Wes Coast. There was a firm demand at ad» iced prices on the late rates. Choppers 'd from 30s to £5 6s. 6d, light porke. 38s to 475, heavy 50s to 595. The average price per lb was Bd. Light baconers sold from £3 7s 6d to £3 15s, heavy £4 to £4 7s 6d. extra to £4 18s 6d, the average being 8d per pound. Mutton—There was a small entry, mostly of ewes. Prices were on a par with the late rates. Best wethiers fetched 33s to 37s ,medium 27s to 325, light 26s to 26s 6d. Ewes sold : Prime 24s to '2Bs 6d. medium 20s to 23s 6d, light down to 15s 6d. Beef—There was a medium entry, the quality being poor. A keen demand kept prices on a par with last week. Steers sold: Extra heavy £lB to £2l 17s 6d, heavy £l6 5s to £l7, medium £l2 10s to £l4, light £lO to £l2 15s. Cows and heifers sold: Extra heavy £l3 10s to £ls 2s 6d, prime £9 5s to £l2 15s, medium £8 to £lO ss, others £5 15s to £8 os.
