LONDON, February 25
The “Daily Chronicle’s” Berlin correspondent says:—The German parties are haggling over the lormation of a Government which will be able to' replace the present Rump. The Reichstag is dominated by the Socialists, but is unable to impose the taxation necessary to balance the budget. .Many Germans are weary of the party wrangles. 'I here is evidence that the party system is losing credit, critics considering the nation is faced with the necessity of deciding between Parluimentarianism and a dictatorship. Thus Herr Hermann Mueller, the Socialist Chancellor of the Reich, writes to the “Morgenposi” and admits that anxious Germans already see Fascism at the gates, though i: 1 adds personally he is confident that . neither the Italian, Spanish, Serbian or Lithuanian mades of government are possible in Germany. Herr Alueller urges all parties to see that the -Parliamentary system works. A CONTRAST. IN GERMANY. LONDON, February 2d. The Berlin correspondent of the “Daily Express” says: Only a few flags wore half-masted for Berlin’s National Day in remembrance for its iw'ar dead. There were three hundred thousand reverent people outside the Reichstag on February 25, 1924. ’today there were not 2000 present to honour Germany’s two million fallen. The public are tired of seeing war memorial services exploited for militarist and political purposes.
