AIRPLANES ORDERS. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) LONDON, February 26. The “Daily Chronicle’s” aviation correspondent states an organised effort is being made to obtain a world market for British aeroplanes. Already aviation factories have orders on hand for machines for twenty foreign countries. China has ordered fourteen Avi'O Avian light aeroplanes. Apart from the Vickers Viilore shortly flying to Australia orders have been placed for a number df passengers planes for Australia, including several big D.H. Hercules three-motored machines. Canada has purchased the first aerial fire engine, which is attached to the Vickers-Armstrong-Siddeley flying boat and will he used to patrol Canadian forests and a fleet of Cirrus Avian planes fitted with floats. These will be used to assist in patrol work and summon the aerial fire engine, equipped with chemical lire fighting apparatus. Small lakes and forests are to provide alighting spaces. Advice has been received by Marlborough Aero Club that Sir Charles Wakefield’s aeroplane presented to the New Zealand Government for the encouragement of civil aviation has been allotted to Marlborough. The machine is how at Sockhurn and is to he flown to Blenheim on March Bth in readiness ifor handing over to the Club by the Minister on the following day. The Club is already flying its first machine and a' second is expected in about a fortnight .so that it will shortly have three aeroplanes in its fleet.
