WHOOPING COUGH SERUM. BERLIN. February 26
Scientists at Jena University claim they have invented a serum for whooping cough. Of seventy children inoculated. with the serum and brought into contact with acute cases, only lour were infected with whooping cough.

Trades Union general council after a discussion of over three hours accepted the employers organisations invitation to confer, ft is understood the council is reserving a decision regarding future action until more fully informed of tbe nature, scope and objects of the deliberations, which the employers contemplate. There is at present- no decision to adandon Conferences with Melclietts groupe of employers. Meanwhile the council adopted a few modifications of the Moml Turner joint committees draft interim report on unemployment, which is being suhniited to the T. U. 0. and Melclietts group.
