SUDDEN DEATH
OF WELL-KNOWN MEDICAL MAN
CHRISTCHURCH, February 21
The death took place yesterday, un 7 der somewhat tragic circumstances, rtl Dr Edward Jennings. M.R-.C.S. (Eng.), L.R-.C. (London), of Christchurch. Dr Jennings, who had been in retirement for some years, was at one time a very well-known and highly-esteemed medical man.
Early yesterday morning ho went for a walk in Hagley Park, entering the gate by the Carlton Bridge. Apparently he suffered from a stroke or seizure, and collapsed on the footpath. There he was found by Mr A. E. Coventry. Dr Jennings, whose identity at that time was not established, was removed to the Christchurch Hospital, He did not recover consciousness, dying in the afternoon.
