SPANISH TRAINING SHIP. (Australian Press Association) SYDNEY, February 21. A cable from San Francisco to-day stating there were grave fears for the safety of the Spanish training ship Juan Sebastian Eleano, was referred to the {Spanish vice-consul in Melbourne, Sir Stephen Morell, who replied that lie saw no- cause for anxiety, since the barquentine was only twenty-seven days out- 'from Suva and therefore could not be expected at San l'raneisco under sail. Three cadets were left behind at Suva. Instructions were given by tlu* master to send them, on to San Kir- ' I :lie next steamer. The engineering works ot William. Ada ms and Co., Ltd., situated in Alexandria. a. suburb were destroyed with valuable machinery to-day by a fire. Smoke from the burning paint and oils floated over the neighbourhood in douse volumes. The* damage is estimated at LMO.OOl). Tliei cause of the outbreak is not known.
