ARAHURA FAT STOCK SALE. At the above yards yesterday, W. Jeffries and Co. held their anmAil fortnightly fixture. There was a short entry of cattle and sheep and competition in consequence was keen. Prices equalled those of last Spring for all good quality pens. Sheep also sold well. The followng sales were recorded:—For J. Bell, 60 fat wethers ‘at yds, for Jno Harris, 2 flat cows at £9 15s; for R. Wilson, 2 heifers at £ll, 1 cow at £9 10s, 1 cow at £6 10s; for Perry and Co.. 2 bullocks at £l6 12s 6d, 2 at £ls 10s, 2 at £l6 7s 6d, 4 at £l4 17s 6cl, 2 ar £l4 los, 2 at £l4 7s 6d 2 at £l4, 2 at £l3 17s .6(1, 2 at £l2 10s. Messrs M. Houston and Co. report: At yesterday’s sale at the above yards our. entry consisted of 60 prime wethers and 57 head of fat cattle, which were submitted to a smaller attendance of buyers tlMn usual. The high prices ruling at last sale were not maintainor., the drop in fat cattle being from 20s to 30s per head, nevertheless the sale was a very good one for this period of the year Ox and heifer beef realized vo 45s per hundred, whilst cows sold from 35s to 40s. We sold as follows: On of J. Bell, 60 prime wethers at 335; on account of T. Staines, 2 bullocks at £l4 15s 6(1, 2 cows at £lO 15s, 1 bullock at £l4 15s, 2 heifers at £9 17s 6d, 2 at £ll ss, 3 at £lO 15s, 1 cow at £lO 15s, 2 at £9 10s, 2 heifers at £lO 2s 6d; on account of W. A. Jfimiosoii, 2 bullocks at £l4 10s; 2 at £ls; 2 at £l3 15s, 2 at £l2 17s 6d, 2 at £ll, 1 heifer at £ll ss, 2 at £ll ss, 1 at £9 17s 6d, 1 cow at £lO 17s 6d, 1 cow and 1 heifer at £B. 2 cows at £9, I at £9 2s 6(1, 1 at £8; on account of T. Brown, 1 heifer at £5 7s 6d, 1 yvfiler at £2 17s, 1 store cow at £4; on account of client, 2 cows in profit at £8;
