SUMMER FLOWER SHOW
( ANNUAL DISPLAY. The Soldiers’, Hall yesterday was a •veritable beauty bower when the annua! St. Mary’s Flower Show took place. The various officials concerned had a busy time arranging the numerous exhibits and are to be congratulated on the way their task was carried out. The entry list Avas a lull one, and the exhibits, when, arrayed , looked very, attractive. The Show. was ■not quite up to the standard of last year, but taking into consideration the lateness of the season, the unfavourable weather conditions, and the shortness of the time for preparation, it was a very creditable display. Of the Sections- the cut floAvers comprised the most entries and espeinlly in the Dahlias, Asters and collection of Annuals section, the exhibits Avere very line. The other sections Avere well filled and the exhibits presented, in each case, were splendid. The judging took place about noon and the following were the judges:— Cut Flowers, Pot Plants and Vegeta blesj Mr J. J. Breeze; Decorative Sections, Mesdames G. A. Perry and F. H. Williams; Cookery, Mr A. ■Spence. The judges carried out thentasks admirably, and many thanks are due to them for their services so generously given. During the afternoon and evening a liberal supply of refreshments were available, and in this department good business Avas done. The willing helpers are to be congratulated on their work and a special vote of thanks is due to them for their willing service. The following are the results:—
