The steamer Alioway was being tow-wl from the Aleutian Islands, where she bad been disabled when the towline broke. Ibe ship was abandoned. It is believed that the remnant of her crew escaped. Tiie Japanese steamer M.eiyomaru, lumber-laden, was driven ashore on Aiktak Island. She is a total loss. Her crew are believed to be sate.
