A DAILY MESSAGE
THE GREAT DESTROYER Jt is the idle machine that wears out first. It is the unoccupied building that falls into ruin. ft is the unruffled pool that sickens into stagnant corruption. It is the slothful man who tires first. It is the unemployed man who de teriorates. .Just as iron that is idle degenerates into a mass of useless rust, so idleness wears away the life of machines and men, at a much greater speed than does work. Somebody lias said: “ It is better to wear out than to rust out.” But all the evidence goes to show that idleness, and not work, is the great destroyer o r life. —M. PRESTON STANLEY.
