NEW PORTFOLIO
FOR MR VEITCH. [BY TELEGRAPH —PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Feb. 11. The Hon W. A. Veitch has been appointed to the new portfolio, that of the Ministry of 'Transport. ‘* I am very much interested in the work which I will have to do, and I hope to overcome some of the difficulties that have arisen in connection with motor transport generally,” said Mr Veitch. “Until 1 have settled down and appointed my staff, I cannot make any definite- statement as to the lines on which I will work. Many difficult problems are arising, owing to conflicting interests, but I am quite sure that, with the application of a little common sense and mutual ~orbearauce, we can do much to improve the motor transport services in the general interests of all the people.”
