COOK STRAIT
A NOVEL ATTEMPT. TO CROSS IN A COLLAPSIBLE BOAT. (By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, Feb. 12. Following hard upon Miss Cop piestone’s failure to swim Cook Strait, it is announced that Charles Harwell, aged 65, intends, in the immediate future, to essay a crossing in a collapsible canvas canoe, measuring 7ft. by 3ft. 2in. He intends to make the journey alone, although as he himself says:—“lf I am caught in a storm my chances of swimming will he small.”
