WEST COAST BOWLING CENTRE
ANNUAL MEETING. MONDAY, FEBRUARY 11th. The annual meeting of the Centre was held at the County Chambers, Hokitika, at 8 p.lll. Present—. Messrs j James Ring, Chairman, (Grey Ciub), A. E. Benjamin (Hokitika), N. Loach (lluhanga), JG Strothers (Westport and'Mi Her ton), W. A. Tul loch (Keefton), Hamby (Sergeant’s Hill)'. 1 The Chairman referred to passings since last meeting—Messrs Groom, Kettle, Irving (Greymouth Club), W. Williams (Westport), and Webb (R.unanga), and the meeting stood in silence. The minutes were read and confirmed. The Chairman stated Mr Allan Adams (Greymouth) had kindly consented to act as Secretary. The Sergeant’s Hill Bowling Club applied for affiliation.—Received. Cor- ; respondence in connection with the application was read. It was resolved that tile application be approved and be forwarded on to the New Zealand Association for acceptance. Consideration was given a suggestion by the Canterbury Centre for home and home games between Canterbury and West Coast. Consideration was deferred to a later meeting. The balance sheet as presented showing a credit balance of £22 11s fid was received and adopted. A remit from the Grey Club in connection with the date of the annual meeting was received. It was resolved to defer consideration till the next annual meeting. A vote of appreciation to the executives at Hokitika and Greymouth for the arrangements in connection with the present tournament was carried. Before vacating the Chair Mr Ring thanked members for the support accorded him during the past fifteen years. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. President—Mr James Ring (re-elect-ed). Members spoke in very appreciative terms of the services rendered by Mr Ring since die inception of Hie Centre. Pleasure was also expressed at Mr Ring’s recovery from his recent illness. Air Ring feelingly acknowledged the references made. Secretary and Treasurer.—Mr A. A. Adams (Greymouth). j Auditor—Mr F. H. Kilgour (reelected). ‘t- Vj Mr Tul loch on behalf of" the'Reefton Bowling Club asked that" tbe Centre advise all Bowling Clubs when a visiting touring party are visiting the West Coast. It was resolved that the Reef ton Club are advised when official advice is received. On the recent visit of the Queensland touring party no oifficial advice was received.
Tbe I?y«flon Club advised that they would be prepared to offer Iteelton green for the 1931 tournament. It was resolved to note the request for consideration at next year’s annual meeting.
The Westport Club extended an invitation to bold tbe 1930 tournament at Westport. The offer of the Club was accepted witTi thanks, the date to he the second Monday in February. The tournament committee to he appointed on the same lines as 011 previous years.
The usual levy of 9d per member was struck on all Clubs. A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the meeting at 10 p.m.
