She said she bad to wash by hand and lest the best part of her customers. The schedule showed that bankrupt had debts a,mounting to £287. Her liabilities to secured creditors were £OB4, but she had securities and house properties valued at £OBO. The only assets consisted of nine shillings in cash in the bank. In her written statement Airs Hemming said her husband had been out of employment for the greater part of the last year and she had to support the family for almost the whole time. Air Townsend, who represented the petitioning creditor, said he had instructions to oppose discharge. The Official Assignee, however, said he could see no grounds for opposing discharge, and his suggestion that affairs he held over for a month or two in order that the position might clarify itself was approved by the creditors.
