LABOURER ATTACKED. CHIMSHCTIURCH, Feb. 9. On Thursday afternoon, about 1.80 o'clock, a man named William Peter AlcGiilcn was engaged in trimming a. gorse hedge on the property of Alo-srs Muddrcii Bros,. Winchester, when lie observed that a Jersey Bull, owned by .Messrs Aladdren Bros., was grazing in an ad.(lining paddock, was interfering with his coat, which was bung on a fencing ]w>sl. by tossing it about with his horns. He immediately went to tiie fence to shift the coat, and the bull attacked him through the fence, goring him rather .severely in the .groin. A co-worker, named Larsen, at once came to bis assistance. being thrown clear of the infuriated animal. Air T. H. Langford, of Winchester, had the sufferer conveyed to the To Rata Private Hospital, when Dr. Scanned gave him surgical attention. The injury is not expected to be dangerous, although it is painful. The injured man is a labourer and resides at Alexander street, Teinuka.
