The Pope lias telegraphed to the Papal Nuncios announcing an agreement has boon roached with the Italian Government, which will be signed at the Lateral! Palace on Sunday by Cardinal Gasparni, Secretary of State, and Mussolini. The new Papal State will he called the Vatican City and the Vatican will have the right to maintain a railway station, a telegraph office, an aerodrome, and a wireless station. Tt ' will also he allowed to mint its own money, issue bank-notes and postage stamps and have the other rights of an independent sovereign state. Offences committed in the Vatican territory will be tried at Italian courts. The Italian Govremnent increased the nmnev indemnity from one to two billion lire, of which ono billion is payable immediately. The application ol canon law is a I "new experiment that has never been tried in a modern state and the result will be watched with keen interest throughout the world.
