NEW BRITISH CRUISER. H.M.S. LONDON COMMISSIONED. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Feb. 5. His Majesty’s ship London, the first of four 10,000 tons cruisers of the 1025 programme, was commissioned at Portsmouth to-day by Captain Hog ers. The vessel is going to the Mediterranean, where she will be the flagship of the First Cruiser Squadron. The London was laid down at Portsmouth in February, 1020, and launched in September, 1027. Lord Kbbisham lias' collected oO prints illustrating the history of ships bearing the name of London, which are to be given to tlie new cruiser A suggestion has been made that the London should visit the Thames, as near the City of London as possible, for the presentation. The new cruiser is the eighth vessel of the name London.
