GENERAL DE RIVERA
DENIAL Ob REVOLUTION. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). MADRID, February 5. General De Rivera has issued .i statement: “Reports that troops revolted and fighting occurred is untrue. Not a shot has been 11 reel by either rebels or loyal forces. All that happened was officers ordered men at Ciudad to leave the barracks, and at Valencia not to leave the barracks. In both cases the men obeyed until they realised that the orders were subversive. It is only intended to proceed against officers. The captain-general at Valencia will be charged with having failed to display enough diligence and energy in arresting Guerra army. ■The navy, civil guards and safety troops remained loyal throughout. 'The conspirators .succeeded in rallying only about a thousand in the whole country. That is the whole truth. Anything else is imagination.”
