MARRIAGE SETTLEMENT

OUTCOME OF DIVORCE. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) LONDON, Fob. G. As a sequel to Anthony L’rincep’s divorce. .Mario L«hr is asking the Divorce Court to vary the marriage settlements amounting to £20,000 and £8,00() by Princep’s mother. it is now proposed to settle on Lolir and her fifteen-year-old daughter of the marriage, property producing two thousand a year. The Registrar had approved of this scheme, which meant that £-15.000 ho set aside in trust for the first wile and child, and tlie rest be lott for the husband lreo ot any trust. Tbe Trustees of tbe Settlement op-p-sed the scheme, as it was a post nuptial settlement. Although Princep and Lolir had agreed to it, counsel on behalf of Princep pointed out that his client had married again and was desirous of having power to make provision for his new wife. Counsel on .liehalf of Lolir submitted that the proposed £2OOO was not excessive as it left £6OOO per year for the husband. Counsel for the Trustees said they were not concerned with any division of the income, but the proposed arra.iigement would hand-over a capital sum of £50,000 to Princep for good and all. thus defeating his mother’s primary object under the original settlement of protecting Princep against himself. Judgment was reserved.
